Job Description

Position Purpose
Experienced and highly skilled candidate having required work experience in complex refinery, petrochemical and Oil & Gas projects. He /She will be reviewing, coordinating &will be front facing with client and engineering consultants to ensure seamless work delivery with quality and on schedule with value engineering.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational function:
Lead and manage a team of Process engineers and designers.
Closely work with Project team & Detail engineering contractor to deliver the work.
Attend/ participate in client meetings to resolve technical issues, review sessions and safety workshop.
Review of Process Design & Detail Engineering including performing process simulations for Refinery based processes, design calculations, Process Optimization, sizing & selection of equipments etc.
Preparation/Review of various engineering deliverables (Drawings & Documents) such as Process Flow Diagrams, P & I Diagrams, Process Datasheets, Equipment Specifications, Cause & Effect Diagrams, control philosophies, shutdown philosophies, Participation in HAZOP and other Safety Studies.
Preparation/review of RFQs, evaluation of vendors quotations, clarifications, Technical Bid Analysis etc.
Review of vendors documents, drawings, datasheets, specifications and calculations.
Basic design/review of Heat exchanger in HTFS or equivalent software.
Review/calculation of CV, PSV, SDV, compressor, pumps and Flare study in Flare net.
Attend model review sessions and lead the review session.
Value engineering


Management function:
Attend project meetings.
Monitor of work by review of DCI & MCI, schedule activities, Provide input to progress reports and catch-up plans.
Monitor and control costs attributed to Process. Initiate change order for variation to scope and intimate the same to project team.
Anticipates challenges and develops contingency plans
Guide team to deliver process work

Client Focus and relationship function:

Attend review meetings, document approval with client and detail engineering contractor.
Interface with client to resolve technical issues.

Knowledge and Skill set required for this role: 
 
Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or higher degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
Total 15+ Years of relevant experience in reputed organization, out of which minimum 10 years of experience should be in refinery projects/ Units like CDU/VDU, SRU, VGO, DCU, MS block etc.

Knowledge :
Thorough knowledge of all aspects of complex refinery projects.
Candidate shall have very strong understanding of all drawings, documents, specifications and data sheets to be generated and reviewed for typical refinery project.
Candidate should be competent enough to provide cost effective, value addition suggestion adding value to EPC project.
Exposure to FEED, Detail Engineering, Pre-bid activities of projects.
Strong technical skills.
Knowledge of good engineering & global practices followed in process engineering.
Knowledge of Local Statutory compliance related to process plants.
Strong understanding of plant safety and able to implement safety in plant design & refinery.
Sound knowledge of industry codes and standards namely; ASTM/ASME/ANSI/API/NFPA/(ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, OISD, EIL.
Strong understanding of various safety studies namely- HAZID, HAZOP, SIMOP, EERA, QRA etc.

Cross functional Competence requirement:
Understanding of Inputs and interface with various disciplines Project management, Planning, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical & Piping.

Code compliance
On hands experience with HYSIS or PRO -2 is must.
Review of fire fighting hydraulics with pipe net software
Safety in design
Technical bid evaluation & vendor document review.

Strong verbal, written communications skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
