Job Description

BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus invites applications for the position of Technician. The position details are as follows:

1. Qualification and Personal Profile: Diploma with minimum 3 years’ experience OR Class 10 with ITI with minimum 4 years’ experience.

2. Compensation: Suitable candidate will be placed in Level 4 with a minimum pay of Rs. 25,500/- per month plus DA and other benefits as per Institute Norms.

3. Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities: 1. Setting up of and demonstrating laboratory experiments. 2. Assisting in teaching laboratories and classroom demonstrations. 3. Assisting in planning of evaluation schedule.4. Routine operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment, inventory management and laboratory audit. 5. Assisting in procurement of laboratory equipment and materials. 6. Setting up and maintenance of LMS for laboratory usage in each semester. 7. Record keeping, maintaining daily logs & equipment record books. 8. Any other duties assigned by the Head of Department from time-to-time.

4. Other Skill and Ability Requirements:  1. Should have the expertise to setup and demonstrate experiments. 2. Should have excellent knowledge and hands-on experience in handling equipment. 3. Should have basic electrical and electronics knowledge for lab related maintenance. 4. Should be able to trouble shoot equipment snags in the laboratory. 5. Should be proficient in using computer software to deal with experiments with computer interfacing and setting up and maintenance of laboratory LMS pages. 6. Should be well-versed with computers especially MS-Office. 7. Should have good communication skills. 8. Should have the ability to work independently and as one of a team. 9. Should be punctual, methodical, organized and self-motivated. 10. Should exhibit a high degree of ownership, commitment and flexibility, should be able to put in extra hours as per work demands.
