Purpose:
Define and lead efforts within the Process Engineering team in developing product and process level
understanding for various complex injectables and topical products using principles of chemical
engineering, and mathematical modeling, while meeting the delivery timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and execute experiments for process development in a complex formulations through
use of sound chemical engineering principles
- Partner with formulation and process engineering teams through hands on efforts in
o Developing detailed product and process understanding at lab/pilot scales on various complex
products using a combination of basic chemical engineering principles, process modeling, PAT
tools, QbD & risk assessment approaches, leading to better process robustness &
manufacturability while meeting the delivery timelines
o Translating learning to plant level scale-up trials by partnering with 'Go to Plant' teams
Provide technical guidance based on scientific rigor to the team as a proactive problem solver
-Process enhancements: Ability to identify improvements in terms of technology, engineering
enhancements to improve process robustness of key products
Knowledge / Skills:
o The candidate must demonstrate the technical acumen and intrapersonal skills to seamlessly
interface across functional boundaries - including but not limited to process development,
manufacturing, analytical R&D, and quality operations. The qualified candidate will deliver results
in a team-oriented manner
o Able to apply chemical engineering knowledge and comfortable in developing mechanistic
models from scratch for various scenarios
o Strong interest and a demonstrated experience in providing solutions to complex technical
problems applying rigorous scientific approaches
o Be comfortable being hands on and take a deep dive into novel technical areas when required,
to achieve broader objectives
o Good teaming skills and ability to work with wide range of technical teams and projects

Required Candidate profile
An ideal candidate should've completed PhD with specialization in one or more of the following technologies -Microsphere technologies
Process control
Formulation Chemistry
Characterization techniques
Spectroscopy(Mass spectroscopy/ Spectroscopy imaging)
Particle engineering or reengineering
Polymorphism -(Crystallization techniques)
Continuous manufacturing -Crystallization
Powder technology - size reduction and size enhancement
Drying technology
Filtration technology
Extraction technology
Distillation technology
Mixing technology
