Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the design for new solutions requested by various projects.

Provide consultancy and advisory services to the business, systems development and technology production services for system integration, product evaluation, projects, new business engagements (i.e. acquisitions, integrations, new premises, major projects).

Acts as a Relationship Manager to an Applications and Solutions Delivery business line for all Infrastructure Solution Design requests.

Delivers high quality infrastructure engineering solutions for the bank across all platform requirements.

Value-add to various technology streams by timely and proper engagement and recommending appropriate solutions.

Platform and system capacity & performance related risks are identified, communicated, escalated and acted upon.

Strong knowledge of Big Data Technologies

Effective experience with NO-SQL database (MongoDB, Cassandra, CouchBase, Redis ), Map-Reduce (Hadoop, AWS EMR, ..) and Real-time and event-driven streaming/processing (Kafka / Apache Spark, AWS Kinesis, Lamba, ..)

Strong business acumen, including strong problem solving skills and ability to deliver business value through technology out of an analysis of the business needs

Support regional Data Science / Big Data teams through coaching, guidance and sharing of best practices

Big Data Analytic frameworks and query tools such as Spark, Storm, Hive, Impala

Streaming data tools and techniques such as Kafka, AWS Kinesis, Microsoft Streaming Analytics

Continuous delivery and deployment using Agile Methodologies.

Data Warehouse and DataMart design and implementation

Data modelling of relational and dimensional databases

Metadata management, data lineage, data governance, especially as related to Big Data

Structured, Unstructured, Semi-Structured Data techniques and processes

Design Cloud (AWS) infrastructure for cloud native applications, hybrid cloud and Cloud migration concepts.

Data Infrastructure : Hadoop (preferably Hortonworks / Cloudera Data Platform)

Skills Secondary:

Established professional with 10 or more years working in the related technology infrastructure development life-cycles, testing, implementation, systems administration and support or engineering.

Experience in design, engineering, capacity and performance monitoring and planning.

Self-starter, capable of working without direction and able to deliver technical projects from scratch.

Sound problem analysis and resolution abilities.

Ability to write technology proposals and business recommendations.

Ability to multi-task with multiple parallel projects.

Lead calls with various technology domains and stakeholders for complex technical requirements.
