Act as the design authority, project member or technical lead on a number of projects for all aspects of automation, instrumentation and control systems through from concept, system design, implementation, validation and support transition.
Responsibilities:
Work within standards and operational policies / procedures for the automation systems on site.
Ensure all work executed is carried out in compliance with current legislation and policy.
Identify, develop and implement approved automation system changes to support manufacturing operations.
Keep up to date with technologies to ensure the appropriate solutions are utilised to maximise business benefits.
Work at all times in line with current EHS legislation and GSKs policies and procedures to maintain own, team and public safety.
Collaborate with other teams within and above site, including IT, engineering, production, procurement, QA and validation.
Provide specialist knowledge on automation/IT issues within the site.
Support a continuous improvement culture.
Responsible for the delivering and promoting a culture of maintaining and improving the performance of Safety, Quality, Cost and Customer Service.
Use gembas to identify abnormalities from the standard and to get them fixed, fast. Escalate if appropriate through the tiered accountability process.
