Job Description

  1. Two positions are vacant for carrying out metabolic engineering research on algal strains to enhance biomass productivity and alter lipid content in the DBT- BioEnergy/ Mission Innovation program supported by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India; to contribute in the area of bioenergy using innovative synthetic and systems biology approaches.
  2. Eligibility: MSc/MTech in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Microbiology. GATE; CSIR NET–JRF/LS or DBT JRF Cat. I/II will be preferred.
  3. Experience: Wet lab research experience is mandatory, for carrying genetic engineering and biotechnological research in photosynthetic organisms.
  4. Research Job: Design and construct vectors, DNA cloning, Genetic transformation of organisms with DNA vectors, PCR, RT-PCR, ddPCR, Southern blot analysis, DNA sequencing, and maintenance of transgenic cultures in contained facility etc. Remuneration: Scales of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. Duration: 2-3 year.
