Job Description: As a member of the Unix team, work alongside other team members to provide support for Unix Infrastructure

Provision 'Bare metal' servers, from OS installation, configuration, and some related application installations and configurations.
Work with Security team to ensure the deployed servers are both patched and securely configured
Work with application install teams to deploy other applications, such as data bases
Administration of Unix Servers (Production & R&D)
Provide L3 & L4 level support for Unix Infrastructure
Teamwork: this position requires a strong team player. Not only with the rest of the Provisioning team members, but the interactions with the global IT staff, the R&D and Production customer, and also as a first / best user of BMC tools, feeding back usage and issues so that we are able to find and report things before our customer does. Helping create a better BMC is 'Job 1"

Skills:

Linux, AIX, Solaris, HP-UX (Good knowledge of any 2)
Good understanding of Operating System

Experience with some version or versions of UNIX / Linux
Working Knowledge of Kubernetes/Containers/Dockers will be a plus
Ability to pick up other UNIX / Linux platforms quickly
Working knowledge of Authentication Protocols NIS/LDAP
Knowledge of NFS, Autofs Protocols
Familiarity with OS Virtualization, such as one or more of the following:

VMWare (Workstation, Server, ESX) / Fusion
KVM
RHEV
Oracle VM (Solaris or X86 versions)

Minor Shell scripting, Perl, Java, or some other programming
Track record showing willingness to learn any and all new technologies required to be successful in the position, via mentoring and on the job training. It is not, for example, expected that the candidate will already know ahead of time such things as ADDM, Blade Logic, AO, and other particular skills. It is expected that the candidate has shown the ability to learn new things quickly in a work setting as no formal education in them will be available.
Some hardware experience a plus:

Familiarity with BIOS or UEFI settings / setup
Disk formatting and installation
RAM installation

Good to excellent written and spoken English, as team works globally
Problem determination: Ability to generalize problems and relate them to other, similar situations, to allow rapid problem solving.

Experience:

One or more of the following:

Related experience of 2-3 years
Technical degree in computer science, with Operating Systems coursework

Shift: Rotational Shifts (No late Night shifts).- 6.30 AM to 3.30 PM, 12.30 PM to 9.30 PM & 3 PM to 12 AM
