Job Description

Job Summary
The Security Specialist ensures implementation of security processes and procedures at UPS facilities. He/She addresses dishonesty, physical security, and employee security issues; this may include assisting in investigations. This position monitors claim and damage information to identify trends and respond appropriately.

Job Duties
Analyzes Package Claims
Reviews paid claims data to identify accounts that needed attention.
Evaluates claims data from specific package delivery centers to determine where claims originated.
Produces the monthly claims report for each division to summarize claims information, trends, and analysis.
Responds to stakeholder questions (e.g., Business Development, etc.) to ensure understanding of claims report findings.
Monitors High Risk Shippers
Reviews the High Risk Shipper report to verify receipt of high risk packages (e.g., cell phones, computers, etc.).
Monitors high risk account documentation to ensure pickup and delivery guidelines are followed.
Partners with package delivery center management to conduct high risk account audits.
Reviews Theft Risk
Examines theft and open package data to determine links to company employees.
Conducts physical audit of potential theft areas (e.g., bathrooms, trash cans, etc.) in the package delivery centers to discover possible theft.
Conducts audit of delivery vehicles (e.g., locks, etc.) to reduce exposure to potential package theft.
Inspects package delivery center facilities and property to check for unsecured access areas.
Conducts Driver Audits
Reviews claims data to identify drivers with the most claims.
Examines driver reports to determine if drivers are following driver release (i.e., package left without a signature) guidelines.
Follows drivers on their deliveries to observe and verity driver release discrepancies.
